These topics represent the foundational knowledge and distinct pillars specific to each individual discipline.

  • Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering: Surface water hydrology, groundwater flow, hydraulics of water distribution systems, and stormwater management.

  • Atmospheric Science and Air Quality: Atmospheric chemistry, meteorology basics, air pollutant dispersion modeling, and ambient air quality standards.

  • Solid and Hazardous Waste Management: Waste characterization, landfill design, hazardous waste identification, and radioactive waste management.

  • Soil Mechanics and Geoenvironmental Engineering: Soil physics and chemistry, contaminant transport in porous media, and subsurface remediation techniques.
